(0 votes) Trivial Pursuit - Board Games Which Touched the Lives of 100s of Millions Lance Winslow Playing board games can keep the family together, and they say that the family that plays together, stays together. I never really understood that, until I was in junior high, and four or five houses down from us was a Mormon family. One day a week they would have family night, and they would play board games, and everyone had to be present, and there were no exceptions! This was the... products, articles

Today was a great afternoon. The weather was pleasant, and we protested in the streets and heard some great orations from people speaking directly from their hearts to ours.
What more could any of us want in any part of our life!
Here's part 2 of 3, some video of Annawon Weeden speaking about the King Philip's War board game that some guy is trying to sell. What a very great idea done in a very wrong way!
How about a game where you play at being the real warrior Metacomet? The one who took care of very young people, and old people, injured people, poor people. The guy who debated and negotiated like a genius. The guy who most people feared and respected. And the guy who sometimes went to war, and that's it.
Why does a game have to be 100% genocide, brutality and romanticized propaganda in order to get any popularity in mainstream american culture? It's almost frightening to think about.
I wrote a short once that I never followed through on about a veteran who used his WWII gi bill money to start a small business making balloons for kids, everywhere from festivals and carnivals to beaches and amusement parks. He got good at making everything from Pirate hats to ornate flowers, to well of course to guns and swords, but all those other things.
At some point he had a revelation where he refused to make guns and swords ever again.
The story ends with him simply going out of business because he can't make enough money without doing the guns and swords.
Unhappy ending.
Too much truth in there!
And that's that.
